The Role
The Marketing Generalist leads the development and execution of marketing strategies to grow brand visibility, customer engagement, and business performance. The role focuses on managing campaigns and budgets, analysing market insights, building strategic partnerships, and optimising marketing activities, with a strong understanding of the Ugandan market to ensure effective and impactful results.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to understand customer preferences, emerging trends, and the competitive landscape, and use insights to refine marketing strategies and product positioning.
- Develop and implement strategic marketing plans aligned with business objectives to drive new customer acquisition and strengthen retention of existing clients.
- Lead the development and delivery of marketing materials and content across digital and traditional channels, ensuring brand consistency, high quality, and value for money.
- Monitor and analyse trends in the marketing and microfinance industries to inform strategy, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Client Growth to develop, manage, and track the marketing budget, ensuring efficient spend and strong return on investment.
- Use systems and data assets to track, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives against agreed objectives.
- Develop, lead, and implement digital marketing strategies across Google Ads, LinkedIn, Facebook, SEO, email, and other online platforms to increase brand visibility and lead generation.
- Develop and execute traditional marketing campaigns, including print, radio, and TV, supported by compelling messaging and positioning to drive product adoption and brand awareness.
- Plan content and oversee community management to grow visibility, engagement, and interaction across social media platforms.
- Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and service providers.
- Oversee the end-to-end customer journey by analysing client insights and marketing data and providing actionable recommendations to improve performance and customer experience.
- Manage public relations activities and develop communication plans aligned with organisational goals to strengthen the company’s reputation and stakeholder engagement.
